This report from the ERA4Health European Partnership (Horizon Europe) provides a structured inventory of organisations capable of supporting multicountry IICS at national and European level. Produced by ECRIN, it is part of a broader effort to identify obstacles, map resources, and strengthen the framework for multinational investigator-initiated clinical research. The document is structured as a mapping report with inventory tables, service descriptions, and geographic coverage information.

Scope and Content:

  • Mapping of multicountry investigator initiated clinical studies support structures in Europe: clinical trial units (CTUs), academic clinical research centres, national coordinating centres, and disease-specific research networks
  • Information on services offered (e.g. trial planning and design support, sponsorship services, monitoring, data management), geographic scope, trial phases supported and experience with multinational studies.
  • Focus on non-commercial, investigator-led research infrastructures and support structures relevant to investigator initiated clinical studies.
This resource helps investigators identify organisations that can provide sponsor-delegated support, coordination, or infrastructure for cross-border trials.
